As a Maintenance Technician at Oakbrook, your day-to-day will include a variety of hands-on tasks that keep our communities running smoothly. From HVAC inspections and plumbing repairs to general upkeep and preventative maintenance, no two days are exactly the same.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and replacements for HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and pool control systems
- Manage and complete work orders, unit turns, and coordinate contractors for estimates and approved work
- Complete routine and preventative maintenance, including:
- Grounds care and common area upkeep
- Trash and recycling management
- Safety, monthly, and quarterly inspections
- Assist in managing budgets related to unit turns, repairs & maintenance (R&M), and capital expenditures (Cap Ex)
- Report accidents, emergencies, or safety concerns immediately
- Support additional properties within the assigned area as needed
- Participate in an on-call rotation schedule

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in residential property maintenance or a related field preferred
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, construction, painting, and general maintenance
- Ability to work with vendors, parts, and service providers
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with residents, team members, and vendors
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Vocational or trade school certification preferred
- Must supply personal hand tools required for the role
- Valid driver's license
