Job Title:

Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician supports the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment in a highly automated distribution center. This role serves as a lead technician, providing advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on material handling and pneumatic systems while mentoring and supporting other technicians. The technician ensures that material handling equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting the successful startup and ongoing performance of a new distribution facility.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on material handling equipment, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and related components.
  • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment in a highly automated facility.
  • Diagnose and repair problems with pneumatic systems and related automation components.
  • Serve as a lead technician by supporting, guiding, and mentoring other maintenance technicians on shift.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and installation work on automation and robotics systems as required.
  • Install conveyor lines and ensure they are aligned, tested, and fully operational.
  • Repair and maintain fork trucks to support safe and efficient material movement.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and other trades during the setup of a new distribution center, ensuring equipment is installed and commissioned correctly.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status and issues to operations and maintenance leadership.
  • Support the stand‑up of a new distribution center by assisting with equipment installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in and around operational and construction areas.
Essential Skills
  • At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience within automation and robotics environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Hands‑on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing automation and robotics equipment.
  • Proficiency in working with material handling equipment such as belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and related devices.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems, including maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and installation on industrial equipment.
  • Experience installing conveyor lines in an industrial or distribution setting.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining fork trucks.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation related to automation and material handling systems.
  • Strong focus on safety and adherence to established procedures in an industrial environment.

  • Experience working in a highly automated distribution or warehouse facility.
  • Experience in robotics maintenance and repair in an industrial setting.
  • Experience collaborating with subcontractors and multiple trades during facility build‑out or expansion.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a lead technician and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Comfort working in a new‑build environment alongside general contractors and construction activities.
