Fiber & Coax Splicer / Fiber Maintenance Technician
Location: Janesville to Oshkosh Corridor, WI
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Overtime Available)
Pay: $25-$35/hour + Production Bonus
Responsibilities- Perform fusion splicing on FTTH and outside plant fiber networks.
- Troubleshoot, locate, and repair fiber outages.
- Test fiber using OTDR and other fiber testing equipment.
- Read splice diagrams, fiber maps, and construction prints.
- Perform maintenance and emergency restoration work.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Complete daily documentation and testing records.
- Follow all safety standards and procedures.
- Previous experience as a Fiber Splicer or Fiber Maintenance Technician.
- Hands-on experience with:
- OTDR testing and troubleshooting
- Fiber fault isolation and repair
- Loose Tube, Ribbon, and Single Mode fiber
- FTTH fiber counts (48-144 count)
- Backbone/BAU fiber counts (144-432 count)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors, lift equipment, work overtime, and participate in an on-call rotation.
