Meter Paint Technician Madison, WI

As a Field Technician, you will paint and inspect natural gas meter sets, perform basic remedial repairs, and use modern equipment to complete utility service work including meter painting and supporting general maintenance activities.

• Stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders, and lift weights of at least 50 pounds unassisted.
• Work a route to complete meter painting and compliance orders in a timely manner in accordance with training and procedures.
• Perform meter inspections, recognize abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion or stressed meters, and report to the supervisor.
• Assist in performing regular inspections and maintenance of above‑ and below‑ground gas systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid, unexpired driver’s license.
• Excellent senses of smell, hearing, vision, and color identification.
• Adherence to safety requirements and customer‑service experience.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and walk 3+ miles per day.

• Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day; carrying up to 50 lbs. of equipment.
• Effective communication with customers in a courteous manner, exhibiting excellent customer‑service and communication skills.
• Observes and follows all company/client procedures.
• Availability for overtime, including weekends.
• Comfort with using computers and technology.

The starting hourly pay for this position is $23.00 per hour.
