- Assist the responsible person in performing required duties for completion of install‑related tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems.
- Observe the actions of the responsible person(s) and apply as directed.
- Help with installation of electronic systems, from start‑up through final testing.
- Follow verbal and written instruction and read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
- Carry or move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds, and perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with Simplex Grinnell work.
- Wear appropriate safety equipment, including hard hats and work boots, and comply with all safety requirements.
- May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
- Perform other duties as requested and submit required paperwork daily.
- Minimum one year of fire alarm and/or security system experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Construction experience (required).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50‑70 lbs.
- Ability to work in unusual and difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Strong customer‑service attitude with high organization, positive attitude, and quick learning ability.
- Electrical trade experience preferred.
- Low‑voltage experience is a plus.
- NIECT certification is a plus.
- VESDA certification is a plus.
The hourly rate for this position is $18.22–$25.09, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This includes a competitive benefits package.
