HVAC Field Service Technician

Where is the work?

Field-based:
Work is conducted on-site at customer locations.

This role is the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base including Healthcare, Process Manufacturing Facilities, Education Institutions, and Office Complexes. The incumbent will commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in a commercial environment, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts.

• Coordinate with team leader/project manager and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on‑site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing on‑site work.
• Represent the company as the direct customer contact and be responsible for products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location.
• Use cutting‑edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand‑tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units.
• Maintain flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as business requires.
• Enforce safety to the highest standards and keep security and accountability of company assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required); typically 5+ years of HVAC experience (preferred).
• Technical school or formal training preferred.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphone, iPad).
• Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
• EPA certification.
• Must be willing to travel and work in a safety‑sensitive environment (additional drug screening may apply).

Hourly base pay range: $25.70 – $47.35. Compensation is based on seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
