Location: Madison, WI

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

Looking for Commercial Facilities Maintenance Technician jobs in Madison where your technical skills keep equipment operating at its best? This opportunity allows you to troubleshoot problems, perform repairs, and help maintain the systems that keep production moving safely and efficiently.

Job Duties
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair of commercial building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general facilities equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues, completing work orders safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
  • Conduct plumbing repairs, electrical maintenance, lighting replacements, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and general building upkeep.
  • Perform routine facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure operational readiness.
  • Travel between commercial customer locations using a company-provided vehicle and tools.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding service updates, repairs, and project timelines.
  • Document inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities using maintenance software and mobile devices.
  • Order materials, maintain inventory, and follow OSHA and company safety procedures.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training, vocational certification, or coursework in facilities maintenance, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or a related skilled trade preferred.
  • OSHA safety training or industry certifications are a plus.
Experience Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial facilities maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, or industrial maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems.
  • HVAC maintenance experience or exposure to commercial mechanical equipment preferred.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), work order software, and handheld devices.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between customer sites.
  • Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding maintenance tasks while maintaining quality workmanship and safety standards.
