Job Summary
Performs varied control and instrumentation, basic mechanical, and basic electrical maintenance activities and other duties necessary to maintain the generation facility to which they are assigned.
Responsibilities- Performs the control and instrumentation, and basic mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting and constructing of equipment and systems for the generation facility.
- Maintains and installs plant control systems, plant instrumentation and similar activities.
- Maintains, calibrates, assists with required testing of equipment and systems.
- Processes all necessary documentation.
- Is proficient in the use of various powered and/or hand tools as job needs dictate.
- Operates and/or obtains information from various basic mechanical and basic electrical devices used to support specific equipment diagnostics or work activities; gathers, interprets and logs data.
- Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities.
- Performs various generating plant and shop area housekeeping functions.
- Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices.
- Performs other duties which are similar, related, or incidental to this position.
- Travel time from primary residence to assigned headquarters must be 60 minutes or less under normal driving conditions.
- Employees are required to live within 60 minutes of one of the following locations:
Columbia, Edgewater, Riverside, or Madison.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Journey level in the instrument and control trade
- Completion of a State Approved Apprenticeship Program
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems.
- Possesses skills in basic electrical and basic mechanical.
- Ability to work from blueprints, diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
- Familiarity with steam plant cycles and operations.
- Must possess technical ability.
- Knowledge of company safety rules.
- High degree of mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
- Strong leadership ability.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
$45.62 - $58.49
