The DOJ, Office of Crime Victim Services (OCVS) houses resources and programs for crime victims, family and friends, as well as professionals in the victim services field. OCVS manages a toll-free line that connects victims to these programs, including the Crime Victim Compensation program, the Victim Resource Center, Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program, and Victim Appellate Notification Services. OCVS also manages and administers the federal grant programs and state funding streams for victim service agencies and county Victim/Witness programs throughout Wisconsin and coordinates technical assistance trainings for a broad range of service providers and stakeholders.
PositionSummary
OCVS is recruiting highly motivated and skilled Victim Services Specialists to join our Direct Victim Services & Training Team.
Victim Services Specialists are responsible for enrolling participants in Safe at Home, Wisconsin’s Address Confidentiality Program, assisting participants with program-related issues, responding to inquiries from community stakeholders, and processing participant mail. Victim Services Specialists may also be responsible for staffing the Victim Resource Center toll‑free line and email inbox, responding to crime victims to assess their needs and requests, identifying local resources and support services, providing general assistance, and making appropriate referrals to other state or community agencies as needed.
These positions are eligible for bilingual opportunities and may require the ability to read, write and/or speak fluently in English and Spanish.
- Please note, to be considered for the Bilingual position and receive $1.00 per hour add‑on pay, the selected candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish. We will verify fluency at the time of hire.

Salary InformationThe Victim Services Specialist position is in pay schedule 12 and pay range 64. The starting pay for this position will be between $30.00 and $32.27/hour, depending upon experience and qualifications, plus excellent benefits. An add‑on of up to $1.00/hr may be available for candidates who are bilingual.
Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire. A 12‑month probationary period may be required.

Job DetailsThese positions are headquartered at the Risser Justice Center located at 17 West Main Street in the award‑winning city of Madison.
Occasional in‑state travel will be required. Must be eligible to drive when required for travel.
