Burnett County Health & Human Services is seeking a Children & Families Unit Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight to our Children & Families Unit (CFU). This position supervises a team of social work and case management professionals and provides oversight of programs including Access, Initial Assessment, Ongoing Child Protective Services (CPS), Foster Care/Kinship Care, Youth Justice, and Coordinated Services Teams (CST).
The ideal candidate will be a supportive and effective leader who can balance staff development and supervision with the complex responsibilities of child welfare and youth justice. This position works closely with staff, agency leadership, community partners, schools, law enforcement, service providers, and other stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field.
- Wisconsin Social Worker Certification (CSW) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully complete required background checks.
- Preference given to candidates with working knowledge and experience in Child Welfare and/or Youth Justice.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in county government and/or the public service sector.

Burnett County recognizes the value of workplace flexibility. Following successful integration into the position, there may be an opportunity for a remote/hybrid work arrangement. Eligibility and timing will be considered on an individualized basis and will depend upon demonstrated proficiency in the role, operational and supervisory needs of the unit, and the employee’s ability to effectively perform the responsibilities of the position.
This position requires an on-site presence as necessary to support staff, clients, meetings, and other operational needs.
Up to $83,824 annually, depending upon qualifications and experience.
