.Net Web Developer

Overview

Please note this role is remote with Wisconsin Residency Required during the project.

Beacon Technologies is seeking a .Net Web Developer for our client partner. The senior level .NET Web Developer designs, develops, and implements web-based applications using the .NET framework to support business requirements. Includes the use of related development technologies such as ASP.NET, MVC, .NET CORE and supported programming languages (e.g. C#, C++, Bootstrap) and scripting languages (e.g. Type Script, JavaScript). Performs development of front-end and back-end development of web applications and web APIs (web services).

Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates documentation, and performs application coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Requires a bachelor's or associate degree in area of specialty or 6+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Can perform with no direct supervision, code is reviewed by team.

Reviews junior developer’s code.

• Work on a high-profile web application project using .NET MVC and .NET 8 web applications with some JavaScript, Blazor, and Kendo UI components, joining an existing team.
• Contribute to modernizing legacy mainframe applications into web applications using ASP.NET MVC with C#, WebAPI, n-tier architecture, and SQL Server.
• Collaborate with the team on front-end and server-side design and development of the web application.
• Engage in requirements analysis, design, front-end and back-end development, testing, and interactive code reviews.
• Develop using JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC with C#, and work with SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle databases.
• Produce high-quality code using TDD, participate in active code reviews, share expertise, maintain respectful communication, produce technical documentation, and provide production support.

Preference will be given for familiarity with automated testing methodologies, Git Lab or Jenkins or other CI platforms, and solid coding experience using TDD.

• Knowledge of Wisconsin CARES system and familiarity with State of Wisconsin application systems (preferred).
• Experience with  Web Forms and legacy applications; familiarity with mainframe modernization projects.
• DB2 Mainframe experience, COBOL language, or experience modernizing COBOL into .NET or other modern languages.
• xPression, iOS/Objective-C/Swift, and front-end UI design experience.
• Front-end web frameworks including Angular, React, Vue.js, Alpine.js, Blazor Server, or similar;
  Kendo UI experience.
• Crystal Reports or Telerik Reports experience; IIS familiarity.
• Power Shell, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure Dev Ops Artifacts; strong communication and teamwork.

• Experience with the Wisconsin CARES system and familiarity with State of Wisconsin application systems - Must Have 5 years.

• Experience writing clear and concise technical documentation and communication - Must Have 5 years.

• Application development using .NET MVC with C# and JavaScript - Must Have 6 years.
• Full stack development experience - Must Have 6 years.
• Experience with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript-based responsive HTML5 applications - Must Have 6 years.
• Documenting technical requirements and design - Must Have 6 years.
• Requirements analysis - Must Have 6 years.
• Experience with the full SDLC and project management principles - Must Have 6 years.
• Experience with authentication and authorization techniques - Must Have 6 years.
• Techniques for proactively prevent and reactively respond to security threats - Must Have 5 years.
• Familiar with Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing concepts and methods - Must Have 4 years.
• Experience performing unit and smoke tests - Must Have 6 years.
• Experience with Bootstrap - Must Have 6 years.
• Dataflow and structure modeling - Must Have 6 years.
• MS SQL Server & SQL Client tools - Must Have 6 years.
• Familiar with TFS/Azure Dev Ops - Nice to Have 3 years.
• Familiar with JIRA - Nice to Have 3 years.
• Knowledge of  and ASP.NET Web Forms - Nice to Have 3 years.
• Experience with source control using Git - Nice to Have 5 years.
