Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer
IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.
OverviewOur client is looking for a .NET Web Developer to design, develop, test, implement and maintain solutions and features for applications in the Microsoft .NET environment, along with designing and implementing Oracle databases in support of the application. The developer provides reliable, responsive support for these projects and systems as developed, along with existing system support as assigned. The position may involve new development, enhancements, maintenance and providing support for existing applications as determined by agency priorities.
Tasks- Orienting oneself to current applications including .Net and/or Power Builder, technical debt, and current backlog. This includes reviewing code, documentation, setting up locally and talking with others to understand functionality and business needs.
- Design and develop applications leveraging standards, best practices and modern design for performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, accessibility and secure coding practices while ensuring business needs are met. This includes developing web applications, batch processes and reports as needed.
- Assist with database architecture, design, and maintenance to ensure data accuracy, performance, and scalability. Provide application maintenance, support, troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Perform and document testing using approved tools and processes for validating functional and non-functional scenarios to ensure quality and accuracy in meeting business needs.
- Manage code, branching, and deployments through Azure Dev Ops, following release processes.
- Complete priority tasks and maintain task progress in Azure Dev Ops to support deliverables and timelines.
- Participate and contribute input in all meetings related to Agile Methodologies following IT PMO guidance.
- Analyze tasks and provide input into estimates and timelines.
- Participate in technical team meetings to coordinate development activities and resolve risks.
- Provide support and issue resolution for user acceptance testing.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for the solution to support ongoing operations.
- Support enhancements, maintenance and documentation for additional program applications.
- Provide on call stand-by and critical support during fire season as required for high fire danger related time frames. This generally falls between March - early June, however, may be called upon other times.
Stand-by may be required and on weekends during this timeframe depending on whether conditions. It is not normally every night or weekend, more for High Fire Danger. During fire season/stand-by, it is critical for position to respond/report to work within 1 hour once notified when on stand-by.

NOTE: Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI within 30 calendar days of start date. Local candidates preferred. Schedule is hybrid; on a weekly basis DNR is currently 60% remote and 40% in the office. New contractor must start onsite for a five-day orientation/onboarding. This position requires standby support during high fire danger throughout Fire Season. This can range from 3-7 weekends per year.
Staff are expected to respond within 1 hour of call for support. This means there may be times required to work over 40 hrs if called for an issue.
