Software Architect in Madison

We are seeking a Software Architect to join a diverse team at Huntsville, AL (Redstone Arsenal) supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The role focuses on developing and maintaining a fielded software product used for radar placement, evaluation, and relocation planning for deployed missile defense radar systems.

Function as the focal point for ensuring the existing software product is scalable, allowing integration of new sensor model representations, and supporting various levels of functionality for each new sensor type. Work with an established team of software developers and interface regularly with a diverse team of systems and radar engineers. Represent Leidos technically, professionally, and ethically on a 100% in‑person on‑site work schedule at a government facility.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering—or a related STEM discipline—plus 12–15 years of experience in computer science or software development
• Must have significant knowledge and experience in Java
• Must have experience using C++ and be able to develop and maintain interfaces between Java and C++ applications
• Must have experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes, along with a general understanding of containerization concepts
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville‑North Alabama, AL area
• Candidate must possess and be able to maintain a SECRET clearance

• Candidates with significant experience using the Git Lab environment and Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines are highly desirable
• Candidates with experience in developing 3D visualization GUIs using Java are valued
• Candidates with experience in modeling & simulation software are valued
