Application Development Engineer – Guidewire​/GOSU, AI

Responsibilities

• develop solutions to the level of quality defined by the requirements
• understand and identify system dependencies
• understand functionality and impacts of proposed changes to supporting applications
• provide appropriate documentation for design decisions and estimating assumptions
• define, conduct, and participate in testing (i.e. unit, system integration)
• collaborate with others regarding effectiveness of systems flow and data usage
• ensure software development meets standards for programming, design, performance, quality, and security
• participate in team activities and taking on additional work tasks to help the team

• experience coding in GOSU at an insurance company
• develop and implement AI/ML models to improve underwriting processing
• integrate generative AI capabilities to enhance customer experience
• build intelligent automation solutions to refine business processes
• use AI tools for code generation, testing, and documentation
• develop end-to-end solutions using Guidewire Policy Center, Billing Center, and Claim Center
• maintain integrations with external systems using APIs, web services, and messaging frameworks
• configure and customize Guidewire products using GOSU, PCF, and Guidewire configuration tools
• experience with application architecture, design alternatives, and development standards
• 2+ years of experience in product upgrades and GW Cloud migration
• perform unit testing, integration testing, and support QA efforts for application releases
• demonstrated experience using relational databases and standard query language (SQL)
• experience with systems development life cycle (SDLC)
• 3+ years of experience collaborating with business analysts and product owners
• experience in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
• knowledge in CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automation
