Position Summary
This Aircraft Pilot position in the Wisconsin Air Services provides safe, comfortable air transportation on a 24/7 and stand-by basis to a diverse customer base of state government entities, including state officials and officers, UW athletics, UW Organ and Tissue Donation, Wisconsin Schools for Blind and Deaf, and others as needed. Pilots are expected to be able to operate in all weather conditions (including snow and ice), operating in low Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) conditions on a regular basis, and maintain radio skills when talking to air traffic control.
The Wisconsin Air Services passenger aircraft fleet includes a 1999 Beechcraft King Air 350 (passenger transport) and 3 2001 Pilatus PC12 aircraft (passenger transport), flying on average more than 1,000 hours annually. The Aircraft Pilot may act as Captain and/or First Officer, depending on the assignment and aircraft utilized on any given day.

Salary Information
Starting salary for the Aircraft Pilot (06-63) will be between $37.00 - $50.00 hourly. Employees will receive an additional $5.00/hr add-on for time spent in flight status. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
This position is non-exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which means you will be paid or will receive time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a work week. In addition, non-exempt status means you will receive a Nighttime Differential pay of $0.80/hr for all hours worked between 6:00pm and 6:00am, as well as a Weekend Differential pay of $0.80/hr for all hours worked on Saturday or Sunday.
Candidates who are new to state service or who have not held any permanent position with the state within the last five years and are willing to commit to working at the Department of Administration, Division Facilities and Transportation Services for at least one year may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $3,000!

Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and background checks on applicants prior to selection. Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have the following:
* Possession of a current FAA Airline Transportation Pilot Certificate (please provide your certificate number in your materials)
* FAA Second Class medical certificate
* The following hours in flight are required:
* 2500 Hours Total Time
* 500 Hours Pilot in Command (PIC) time, Airplane
* 200 Hours Turbine Time, Airplane
* 200 Hours Multi-Engine
In addition to the above, more than qualified applicants will have the following:
* King Air 350 PIC type rating
* Pilatus PC12 experience
* Flight Instructor Certificate
* Experience towing aircraft
