Transportation Technician Advanced vacancyin the Bureau of Highway Maintenance (BHM)!

This full-time position will be headquartered in Madison, WI.

This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Hill Farms State Office Building at least two days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

This Transportation Technician Advanced position is within the Freight and OSOW Permits Unit in the Bureau of Highway Maintenance (BHM), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD). This position performs a variety of duties supporting safe and efficient freight operations within Wisconsin. This position serves as a program liaison working with industry, local and state agencies, WisDOT Regions, WisDOT divisions, WisDOT Permit staff, WisDOT IT staff and consultants, Wisconsin Freight Engineers, Freight Analysts, and other partners to facilitate issuance of Oversize-Overweight (OSOW) permits.

The position facilitates operational analysis of OSOW permit applications and multi-disciplinary freight operational issues that includes coordination across divisions related to freight planning efforts, commercial…
