Job Description

Summary:

The Ingredients Logistics Coordinator supports company operations with critical thinking and excellent communication skills. The position is responsible for planning, establishing and implementing transportation and logistics solutions for internal stakeholders as well as vendors.

Essential Functions:
  • Coordinates with Purchasing on inbound loads of ingredients and supplies into the Westfield, WI, Wells, MN and Mocksville, NC facilities. Coordinate, plan and execute outbound freight movements associated with the Wells, MN facility. Maintains an accurate record of Purchase Orders to ensure that all orders are processed and delivered where and when needed. Determine most cost effective and efficient method of transporting Purchase Orders to meet required delivery schedules.
  • Schedule pickup appointments as required and reschedule as necessary. Provide timely input of data into McLeod (Truck Management Software) to facilitate freight and equipment movement. Evaluate the ability to utilize fleet assets to haul loads or qualify and source outside carriers to provide service. Dispatch Fleet equipment and Drivers or coordinate assignment of outside carriers to meet demand and required delivery schedules.

    Create and send corresponding Load Confirmation.
  • Accurate billing and entry of all freight movements. Maintain excellent working relationships with all internal and external departments and contacts. Crosstrain the responsibilities of other Logistic Coordinator and Planner & Dispatcher roles.
Required Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in the transportation and logistics field.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • A proactive problem solver with the ability to rapidly handle change in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite:
    Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Business Administration or Logistics Management or experience as an OTR driver preferred.
  • Strong geographical knowledge helpful.
  • Experience with SAP, McLeod Software and PC Miler
Supervisory Responsibility:

No supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment:

The work environment is an office environment with standard temperatures and normal office noise levels.

Physical Demands:

This position would be primarily sitting with little to no lifting or other physical demands.

Position Type:

This is a full-time exempt position, 1st shift. Must be able and available to work overtime, including unscheduled days or hours, as necessary. Must be willing to carry a cell phone for after-hours emergency contact.

Travel:

Travel will be limited.
