Position Summary
This regional opportunity will be based in Bayport, MN or Menomonie, WI depending on the candidate’s home location. In this role you will haul dedicated Andersen freight, consisting of windows, doors, and other accessories. The position requires high‑touch unloading responsibilities at dealers, Home Depot stores, and construction job sites, as well as safe driving, material handling, and customer service skills.
The following can be expected during employment:
- Monday – Friday workdays. Home every weekend.
- Weekend work (volunteer only, as business requires).
- Regional delivery routes with potential for overnight stays (1–4 nights per week in certain markets).
- Hourly pay, plus incentives.
- Eligible for overtime over 40 hours.
- Quarterly profit sharing.
- Quarterly safety incentive.
- Paid uniform – annually.
- Safety shoe allowance – annually.
- Cell phone reimbursement – monthly.
- Training – during onboarding, you will work with an experienced driver to learn the job duties, customers’ requirements, and our portfolio of products.
- Safely assist in loading and unloading products at customer locations.
- Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of windows and doors, using provided material‑handling equipment for items over 100 lb.
- Maintain compliance with all Federal DOT regulations while driving company vehicles.
- Maintain safe and defensive driving behavior, especially in tight or congested areas or inclement weather.
- Maintain proper record‑keeping to comply with state and federal regulations, including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other required documents.
- Familiarize and adhere to company policies related to employment, including DOT and non‑DOT policy.
- Represent Andersen with a professional attitude, appearance, and product knowledge.
- Answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer, direct the customer to an appropriate Andersen contact.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a double endorsement if twin trailers are pulled.
- Acceptable accident and moving violation motor‑vehicle record.
- At least 2 years of prior tractor‑trailer driving experience, including winter driving experience (and chaining where applicable).
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations; general mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, read road signs, and maintain logs.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and navigate onboard computer technology for important messaging.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of tractor safety and control systems.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspection, and maintenance.
- Meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
- Pass DOT pre‑employment screening, including a drug test.
- Ability to sit and remain alert while driving for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a tractor safely.
- Ability to perform frequent squatting or crouching to handle positioning and secure windows and doors.
- Ability to perform frequent pushing or pulling of windows and doors weighing up to 100 lb on a dolly or cart.
- Ability to frequently carry windows and doors weighing up to 50 lb of varying size and shape, and occasionally up to 100 lb.
- Ability to frequently reach cargo above shoulder level, at waist level, and below waist level for maneuvering and controlling the truck.
- Ability to hook/unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, manually lower and raise landing gear, operate the fifth‑wheel lever, lock and release pintle hooks, attach and release safety chains, open and close cargo doors, climb into and off vehicles, fuel vehicles, and check engine oil and coolant levels.
Hourly wage: $34.35 (subject to experience, location, and qualifications). Overtime eligible. Profit sharing and safety incentives are paid quarterly. Paid uniform, safety shoe allowance, and cell‑phone reimbursement are provided annually.
