Role Overview

Responsible for ensuring accurate inventory counts, communicating any inventory variances to the Operations Planning Manager, and assisting with daily shipment and receiving of goods. Organizes production materials and supplies for easy retrieval to the production area by the material handlers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory control for warehouse items and all supplies used in the plant (bags, cartons, raw material, finished goods, production storage locations, labels, pallets, tape, etc.).
  • Evaluate production jobs after last issue to verify appropriate material was issued and finished goods were created and moved to the warehouse.
  • Prepare products by banding, wrapping, and labeling finished products and placing them in the finished goods area(s).
  • Handle end of month inventory responsibilities: ensure all goods receipts and issues are posted before the end of the last day of each month.
  • Perform cycle counts as required to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Receive finished goods from production by verifying materials by batch and quantity and placing them into stock.
  • Perform physical inventory for raw material, finished goods, regrind material, and production supplies.
  • Create purchase requests for warehouse items and production supplies.
  • Help organize the layout of the warehouse and storage areas, including bin locations.
  • Perform stock transfers directed from Customer Service and coordinate relabeling activities.
  • Investigate all discrepancies found during all counts and report them to the Supervisor/Operations Planning Manager for timely adjustments.
  • Maintain knowledge of SAP warehouse transactions, including AIMS errors.
  • Back up Shipping Clerk/Receiving Clerk duties when the primary employee is not present.
  • Serve as a driver when needed, maintaining DOT physical and Commercial Driver's License.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Operate safely and maintain a safe work environment: attend required training, identify and report hazards, wear required PPE, and be accountable for self and co-worker safety.
  • Participate in and/or support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift Certification required.
  • Current Commercial Driver's License required.
  • Working knowledge of computer operations, specifically in applications relevant to Amcor Mankato.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of all warehouse activities and related production activities.
  • Good math skills.
