Job DescriptionTeacher – Certified Position (2040 ES, 2050 MS, 2060 HS) for the 2026‑2027 school year. Salary is per Salary Schedule. Days: 185.
Reports to:
Principal.
- Plan, organize and deliver programs of instruction that support high expectations for all students.
- Supervise students, instructional, and/or clerical assistants.
- Demonstrate proficiency in planning developmentally appropriate, research‑based instruction that addresses Kentucky’s learning goals and outcomes.
- Create and maintain a learning climate that supports student learning outcomes.
- Implement developmentally appropriate teaching and learning activities to apply curriculum.
- Assist in implementing board policies, administrative regulations, and school rules governing student life and conduct; develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures.
- Evaluate specific teaching/learning situations and communicate progress through anecdotes, student‑teacher conferences, and portfolios.
- Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
- Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other staff to assess and address health, attitude, and learning problems.
- Perform professional responsibilities such as attendance, punctuality, staff meetings, committee service, extracurricular responsibilities, in‑service education and professional growth.
- Demonstrate effective collaboration with peers, subordinates, supervisors, students, and parents.
- Conduct teaching consistent with state and district missions.
- Plan and supervise instruction for assistants and volunteers; collaborate with departmental leaders.
- Evaluate own performance and pursue professional development goals.
- Promote self‑discipline and self‑control.
- Aid in administering group standardized tests per district or state regulations.
- Utilize Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as outlined at the school/district.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Adhere to the professional code of ethics.
- Use technology appropriately in job functions.
- Perform any other duties as designed by the immediate supervisor/Principal.
- Kentucky certificate, license, or other legal credential required.
- Experience and alternatives acceptable as approved by the Superintendent.
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
