Job TitleTechnical Customer Service Engineer
Job DutiesAhlstrom Filtration LLC seeks a Technical Customer Service Engineer in Madisonville, KY to ensure all product specifications are up-to-date and in compliance with customer requirements in the glass veil and roll goods manufacturing sector. Provide support to the sales team by supplying customers with Technical Data Sheets (TDS), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and chemical regulatory statements. Input all product codes into the system and ensure proper formulation/recipes.
Perform analysis and testing of customer-rejected glass veil and follow up on implementation solutions. Oversee trial plans by keeping a list of product grades and customers updated and scheduling trials according to machine availability and capability. Align with customer requirement standards and provide necessary tools for quality control. Provide technical support to customers via email, phone calls, or on-site visits.
Responsible for product approvals through issuance of PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, and customer‑specific requirements. Ensure consistent application of quality techniques in plant operations. Responsible for laboratory equipment and procedures including gage R&R, calibration, and replacement. Work on claim resolution between sales force and customers. Utilize Carel Mill, Care Lab, Orderplan, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis. May travel to various and unanticipated worksites throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of chemical engineering experience.
- Experience with Carel Mill/Carel Lab or commercially equivalent production and quality management software.
- Experience with Orderplan or commercially equivalent supply chain software.
- Knowledge of machine processes for the manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Understanding of FDA standards for product property measurements and customer product requirements.
- Proficiency in 5 Why and Lean/6 Sigma root‑cause analysis problem‑solving tools.
- Experience in the paper and roll goods manufacturing sector.
