This Position is responsible for:
Providing social service assistance to eligible clients in the following areas: food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial aid; interviews clients to determine need and eligibility to receive assistance; assists clients who need help after the fire, flood, tornado, etc. Maintains the Pathway of Hope program, and HMIS for all shelter clients. Prepares accurate and complete client records; refers clients to community agencies and maintains effective working relationships;
ensures compliance with program policies and procedures. Prepares Corps Administrative Support functions by completing appropriate Human Resources paperwork for submission in TSSAM; coordinates Corps Open Enrollment and assists with Benefit Orientation. In addition, I process new hires and administer the Paycom and Attendance for Corps employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greets and interviews clients requesting assistance to determine client's eligibility for service based on program guidelines and restrictions; records clients' disposition and other pertinent information such as income, expenses, family, and work history; assists clients in completing applications for assistance; photocopies social security cards, picture identification cards, payroll statements, utility bills, etc.
- Prepares, completes, and processes food, clothing, and furniture vouchers for eligible clients; directs clients to Lodge Kitchen, Thrift Store, or Distribution Center for assistance. Pack food boxes for clients leaving the shelter and going into permanent housing; provides clients with food from the pantry; receive and stock items donated for the pantry; maintain an inventory of itemized account of pantry items and disbursements.
- Prepares administrative support by completing all Human Resources paperwork and submissions in TSAMM, new hires, bell ringers, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc. Reviews Corps information in Ceridian for timesheet and pay errors before submission and makes corrections; and provides Ceridian coaching and training to staff. Obtains usernames and passwords for Paycom, Blood-borne pathogen (BBP), and Safe from Harm (SFH) for all new hires at the Corps.
Distributes Open Enrollment information to staff. Ensures the files are maintained organized and efficiently— files insurance claims for accidents on vehicles and property. Oversees and maintains accurate record keeping of the gift cards.
Physical Responsibilities:
- Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by sitting, standing, and walking combinations. Tasks are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.

High school diploma or G.E.D., and Two year's experience working in a social or public service environment with experience assisting the public, Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge of general office practices and principles. Knowledge of social service practices and principles. Ability to interview clients to evaluate and serve their needs. Ability to determine client eligibility for program assistance based on specific program guidelines and restrictions. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the public and community agencies. Ability to prepare accurate and complete client records, reports, and statistics.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to type and keypunch information into a computer. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to operate general office equipment, including a telephone, typewriter, computer, and adding machine.
