Equipment Operator - Recycle Dept

Equipment Operators are responsible for the safe loading, unloading and transportation of materials to the correct locations. It is the operator’s responsibility and duty to inspect equipment and make sure the correct material is being loaded. Operators are responsible to communicate and inform the shop of all equipment maintenance needs in order to keep equipment in good working order. All operators are required to observe all safety standards.

Some of these pieces of equipment are:
Excavators, Dozers, Loaders, Skid loaders.

• Help with any quantity measurements the foreman needs

• There are many types of equipment used in material production, there is a need to have a basic understanding of them all.

Listed below are the qualifications required to successfully perform the job. These qualifications are not mandatory but highly encouraged, we believe the more qualifications you have the greater your chance of success will be.

• 3 years of equipment operating experience (not required, but preferred).
• Self-Motivated with a results driven approach
• Have a complete understanding of the equipment you operate
• Ability to see what needs to be done and doing it.
• Thoroughness, efficiency, reliability, and exact timeliness is critical
• Ability and attitude to support all employees with anything they need to be successful
• Willingness to adapt to changing Circumstances
• Situational awareness, always be aware of your surroundings
• Ability to interpret had signals

Morgan Asphalt will provide all tools and necessary equipment will be provided to complete the work. Expect all your time to be spent working at any of the three material operation sites (Grantsville Aggregate Pit, 201 Recycle plant, or 201 Hot Plant). Plan on working all 4 seasons outside and dress accordingly to protect yourself from the elements. Working conditions will vary based on location but all locations will have uneven ground, limited access, and risks of slips, trips, and falls.

Must be physically able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug test. Equipment Operators must be capable to work all day according to local laws while paying attention to their personal surrounding and changing environments. A pre-employment physical & drug test will be required before employment to ensure physical health. This job can require lifting heavy loads 50lbs+ on rare occasions (fabric rolls and tools) and is extremely strenuous on the body.

Ability to stand up all day, walk across the job site, and be able to use manually operated tools are a requirement.

Equipment Operators report directly to the Foreman. Any safety or production issues you encounter will need to be reported to the Foreman. It is the foreman who is responsible for compiling and completing the daily reports in the TRACK program. All employees will be responsible for keeping their time on a physical timecard and turning it in each week.
