Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Non-Destructive Test Technician - Level 4 to join our team in Magna, UT. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This role primarily performs non-destructive testing (NDT) radiographic inspections (RT) on composite loaded rocket motors. Inspects propellant, composite materials, parts, and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods with radiographic techniques.
Requires certifications in RT Non-Destructive testing in accordance with regulations. In house part and material inspections are periodically performed using, ultrasonic (UT), liquid penetrant (PT), magnetic particle (MT), and eddy current (ET) inspection methods. These inspections can be in different locations including confined space locations. This position is a rotating schedule between day and night shift. Occasionally will require overtime and flexible/changing schedules including weekends as required to meet schedule demands.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Willing to work with high energy x-ray machines (15
MeV) and radiation environments.
* Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, and lifting up to 50lbs.
* Able to be subject to areas which could cause various phobias due to height or confined spaces.
* Able to understand and strictly follow procedures, planning, and policies.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical report writing.
* Must be capable of conducting NDT for the acceptance of parts with clear and concise documentation of the results.
* Possess the ability to work in a team environment under the guidance of mentor/mentors to learn the necessary techniques and processes for achieving high quality NDT inspection results.
* Ability to interpret rulers, digital gauges and calipers.
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment as part of a multi-disciplined team.
* Successfully pass a near vision eye examination, including a color vision test.

Basic Qualifications:
* High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
* No clearance required to start
* Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain Employee Possessor designation from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms
* NAS
410 qualified Level 2 classroom training/experience, or equivalent, in radiographic methodology, either in progress or completed.
* 3+ years of documented hours as an NDT Level 2 inspector in at least two NDT methods; in order of preference:
Radiography (RT), Ultrasound (UT), Eddy Current (ET), Dye Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT). RECORDS REQUIRED
