Quality Control Technician – Magna, UT
Responsibilities- Perform standardized tests on aggregate, asphalt, and concrete in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and state DOT procedures
- Conduct field density tests, moisture testing, gradations, asphalt content tests, concrete strength tests, and other routine QC procedures
- Accurately record, log, and report test results in a timely manner
- Communicate test results and quality concerns to supervisors, project managers, and production staff
- Maintain testing equipment, tools, and calibration records
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Represent the QC team professionally when interacting with internal teams, contractors, and inspectors
- This position requires the availability to work up to 7 days per week and may require traveling out of town for short periods
- Preferred but not required: relevant construction material testing certifications (e.g., WAQTC or other state-specific technician certifications)
- If not already certified, technician will be required to pass written and practical exams to attain WAQTC or other agency certifications
- Proficiency with basic math including unit conversions, percentages, and calculating material properties
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess a valid driver s license
