Job Description:
We are looking for a safety-focused and motivated Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing company-owned equipment to ensure reliable operation in the field.
This position requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and welding repairs on a variety of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, material handlers, front-end loaders, shears, skid steers, balers, and diesel trucks. The ideal candidate can work independently with minimal supervision and efficiently diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, organize, and coordinate assigned repair and maintenance tasks.
* Conduct equipment inspections and diagnostic testing to determine repair needs.
* Perform welding, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs as required.
* Install, align, and balance new equipment.
* Maintain accurate vehicle and equipment service records.
* Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
* Keep the work area and shop clean and organized.
* Follow all company and industry safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
* Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to team success.
* Be punctual and proactive in assisting with additional tasks as needed.
Skills &
Qualifications:
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Required).
* High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
* 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (Required).
* Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
* Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
* Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
* Ability to work safely in changing environments while maintaining awareness of surroundings.
* Occasional lifting of heavy loads (50+ lbs.).
* Ability to stand, walk, and use manual tools throughout the workday.
