Reactor Operator

General

Purpose:

Responsible for the timely manufacturing of resin batches to specified requirements in a safe manner.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with all rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in making spreads, pulling/pushing buns.
  • Conduct and log daily inspections of work areas and equipment.
  • Perform minor maintenance and assist in cleanup during downtime.
  • Follow Solimide Foams’ Loss Control Policies.
  • Complete Reactor Operator Task List and Daily Checklist.
  • Operate forklift safely and inspect it regularly.
  • Run assorted quality tests in the laboratory.
  • Create resin batches, move raw materials, and manage hazardous and non‑hazardous waste.
  • Compact scrap foam and write work orders.
  • Participate in the Site 5S program and attend all required safety meetings.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Work in extreme and varying temperature and weather conditions.
Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • WAGE certificate preferred for employees hired on or after January 1, 2004.
  • One‑year experience in a production environment with an understanding of plant operations.
  • Ability to operate a computer (Windows) and use basic factory equipment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to relate to people at all levels.
  • Physical capability to walk, stand, use hands, reach, pull, push, and lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must operate a forklift and various saws; use of PPE required.
  • Attention to detail and strong safety orientation.
Work Environment

Manufacturing plant with exposure to variations in temperature, weather, noise, vibration, chemicals, and hazardous materials as specified in company safety policies.
