SAU+VISTA Yearlong Fellow 2026-27

The Mission of SAU+Ameri Corps VISTA is to meet poverty-related needs and create pathways out of poverty as we increase the rate of college degree completion among low-income students and increase civic engagement throughout the Magnolia community. Our project supports anti-poverty efforts in the community and on campus with various partner organizations, providing meaningful civic engagement opportunities to VISTA members, students, and community members.

Campus and Community Fellows will build their program's services by developing university and community engagement, secure volunteer systems, funding research options, and improving the program's effectiveness in fulfilling the SAU+VISTA mission. Member Duties : SAU+VISTA members will build capacity across multiple SAU and community programs by developing systems, resources, and outreach that strengthen education, economic opportunity, and community engagement. Members may support digital communication efforts, help expand arts programming, assist with community and campus wellness initiatives, enhance student success and retention systems, contribute to volunteer coordination and engagement, and support grant research to increase long-term sustainability.

Additional service may include improving student activity programming, supporting creative and performing arts efforts, and assisting with planning and research for emerging campus projects, such as agricultural or farmstead initiatives. Across all placements, members will focus on creating sustainable processes, strengthening partnerships, and improving access to resources for the populations served.
