Job DescriptionTo install, repair and maintain production equipment, buildings and facilities.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Installs, sets up and maintains mechanical and electrical equipment as directed and assists others with electrical equipment.
- Possesses a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings. Diagnosis and employs the proper procedures for the relief of trouble.
- Utilizes hoisting and rigging procedures as required to ensure the safe completion of assigned tasks.
- Determines when parts need replacement and repairs are necessary.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC programing.
- Works in the company of others in the performance of both mechanical and electrical duties.
- Works in cooperation with the Production department at all times.
- Possesses a working knowledge of the following equipment.
- Arc welding and cutting equipment.
- Power tools such as drill press, cut-off saw, and portable power tools.
- Hand tools of the mechanical and electrical trades.
- Hoisting equipment.
- Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times.
- Completes required records as required.
- Directs the activities of another when assigned.
- Possesses the necessary tools of the trade.
- Trains inexperienced employees on the job as required.
- Works in teams with others in E & R and Production.
- Performs other miscellaneous jobs as directed.
- Keeps E&R equipment and working area clean and orderly.
- Operates mobile and hoisting equipment in performance of E&R work.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Works within guidelines and policies of JM Eagle. Follows guidelines and directives supplied by Supervisor.

Education and/or experience
College or trade school certifications in mechanical and electrical courses.
2+ year's verifiable experience in electrical & maintenance repairs.
Able to read and create mechanical and electrical drawings.
Good knowledge of electrical codes.
Computer skills
PC experience required. Working knowledge of UpKeep program, MS Office, PLC programs, and CAD programs.
Language skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as ratios, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Sight capabilities to distinguish proper product identification as well as warning and operational indicators.
- Hearing capabilities to distinguish differences in warning alarm indicators and standard operation indicators.
- Sight capabilities to identify accuracy and neatness of required job assignments.
- Balancing to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching in all areas due to possible limited observation.

- Ability to confirm by sight quality level of raw materials and products produced to determine acceptance and or denial of each.
- Lift 26-50 pounds and carry it up to 30 feet.
- Walking through, under and around equipment with a clearance of 30".
- Activate and use telephone, computer, and calculator.
- Ability to feel objects, such as textures, size and shape and to determine temperature by touching of skin, primarily by that of finger tips.
- Ability to grasp office utensils and use them in accordance with a safe working manner so as not to injure oneself or fellow employees.
