Position Summary
The Project Manager will work onsite in Houston, TX and surrounding areas, overseeing and controlling assigned civil construction projects. Responsibilities include managing field operations, safety, scheduling, quality, reporting, trade contractor coordination, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget while maximizing margins.
Responsibilities- Lead the project team with Estimator, Superintendent, Project Engineers, and Foremen to plan, organize, and direct activities.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Work with the Superintendent, Quality Manager, and Management Team to ensure work meets contract requirements.
- Review project plans and specifications and coordinate scope confirmation.
- Stay appraised of on-site compliance and safety audits; suspend or modify work practices as necessary.
- Procure and schedule materials, resources, equipment, personnel, and subcontractors to meet schedule and budget.
- Manage projected contract revenue, cost to complete, and monthly cash-flow projections.
- Assist with project estimates ensuring all factors are considered.
- Ensure required reporting is received, documented, and thorough.
- Monitor plans, permits, and design changes to ensure compliance.
- Implement quality control plan aligned with contract documents.
- Review subcontractor daily reports to ensure conformance.
- Formulate progress, cost, and schedule reports.
- Oversee documentation and retention of project start-up, commissioning, contracts, completion, and close-out reports.
- Monitor and control project via onsite management staff.
- Collaborate respectfully with co-workers and participate in training.
- Represent the company in project meetings.
- Travel as required for extended periods (95% of time).
- Maintain constant vigilance and safety.
- Perform additional duties as directed.
Supervises project field personnel and subcontractors.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Technical knowledge of field construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Effective team management and competent change-management skills.
- Ability to supervise staff across different project locations.
- Knowledge of construction, architectural, and building industry standards.
