Summary

The Construction Helper partners with the Construction Crew Leader to complete the necessary tasks and projects for the construction department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Make the vehicle ready for the day planned by the work assigned (load parts as given by the inventory coordinator, ice for cooler, etc.).
  • Assist in loading and unloading heavy equipment.
  • Assist the Crew Leader in completing the work.
  • Assist the Crew Leader with maintaining required vehicle logs.
  • Observe safety in completing work orders in compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and tools.
  • Perform any other activities that are asked of.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Acceptable evaluation by Construction Crew Leader
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:

    High school graduate or equivalent; mechanically inclined; preferably some related utility experience.
  • Language/Math/Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Some personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, Paycom, etc.
Physical Requirements
  • Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
Working Environment
  • The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
  • Outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (e.g., rain, sun, snow, wind).
  • Must be available 24 hours a day at times.
  • Loud to very loud (examples: jack hammer work, front row at rock concert).
