CAD Designer in Magnolia

Job Description

CAD drafters are responsible for transforming construction document designs using CAD programs to develop accurate models and working drawings for design approval, shop fabrication, and field erection.

• review and analyze project drawings and specifications
• develop 3d cad models based on project data
• generate accurate working drawings for design approval, shop fabrication, and field erection
• provide timely technical assistance to the project team
• exercise good judgment in interpreting construction documents based on design intent
• understand and implement best practice procedures into plans
• communicate design conflicts in written form
• know and implement local and international safety codes (ada, ibc, tas, aisc, osha)
• visit construction sites to pull field dimensions and record as built conditions
• identify potential scope conflicts, convey conflicts effectively, and develop solutions
• review generated plans for completeness and accuracy
• organize, plan, and prioritize work
• maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and research

• direct experience proficiency with autocad inventor
• minimum 2 years of cad experience
• associate’s degree, certificate in drafting or equivalent experience
• working understanding of metal materials / fabrication processes
• experience with architectural detailing is a plus
• proficient in math calculations (arithmatic, geometry, and trigonometry)
• able to read and understand construction documents
• computer literate with intermediate knowledge of ms office products
• good organizational and communication skills
