Religious Education Assistant

Summary

Reporting to the Director of Religious Education, The Religious Education Assistant helps to support the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Spiritual Growth programs for children and youth. Duties include classroom setup, using our database to maintain records and send out communications to families and group facilitators, filling in as a classroom substitute as needed,and assisting with childcare for older children on Wednesday nights and for special events.

WBUUC is looking for candidates who are excited to work collaboratively with a team that is dedicated to building a welcoming, multigenerational community, and is intentionally working to dismantle racism and other oppress ions in ourselves and in our organization.

Director of Religious Education

Part-time; approximately 15 hours/ week, year-round

On-site:
Sundays, Wednesday evenings, and occasional weeknight and weekend events.

• Organizational and communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to learn and use a new database system
• Experience working with children of all ages
• Ability to
  • occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • communicate effectively with parents and volunteers,
  • be on-site for programming
  • articulate UU values and be familiar with a range of religious beliefs
  • Uphold mandated reporting laws
  • Background screening required
  • CPR/ First Aid training a plus.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

$23-$26 per hour, depending on experience plus benefits
