Data Center Mechanical Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains watch over various central plant, Centrifugal Chillers, heating and building equipment, engine generators, circulating pumps and fans
• Manages regularly scheduled preventative maintenance according to a pre‑determined schedule
• Manages complex mechanical projects
• May maintain documentation such as power diagrams, network diagram and physical space usage
• Promote, support, and enforce NTT Data standards as they apply to the Facility Maintenance department
• Control and administer all activities in the Facility Maintenance department
• Responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations, tooling and plant facilities

• 1+ years’ experience in critical facilities operations

• Universal EPA Certification
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience in HVAC or other related fields
• Familiarity with HVAC wiring diagrams
• Ability to handle physical workload
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Ability to read, interpret, utilize and train on manuals, schematics and control circuit
• Technical aptitude
• Knowledge of local codes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Conflict management skills
• Detail‑oriented and highly organized – able to multi‑task
• Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, general software navigation
• Extensive commercial HVAC knowledge (centrifugal knowledge required)
• Moderate commercial plumbing knowledge (preferred)
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen
• Working knowledge of HVACR controls and sequence of operation
• Understand schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical plans and blueprints
• Good concepts of servicing both new and older equipment (if required)
• A willingness to learn new ideas, methods and perspectives
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role is $67,000 – $102,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills and other qualifications.

This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
