Training Specialist (Contract)
This contract Training Specialist role provides critical training support during a transitional period following a recent acquisition. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain training continuity, support system integration, and uphold compliance across the organization. The position focuses on managing role-based training, integrating training materials into new and existing systems, and ensuring training processes align with quality and regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with managers, process owners, and subject matter experts to assess and support training needs, including the implementation and maintenance of role-based training plans.
- Execute training-related tasks within the change control process to ensure new and updated documents have appropriate training assigned, scheduled, and maintained in the learning system.
- Lead efforts to integrate training materials, curricula, and documentation into new and existing systems and processes during and after the acquisition transition.
- Support training-related activities associated with nonconformities and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), ensuring training responses address identified gaps.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute training metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor training performance, and escalate adverse trends or gaps to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and recommend improvements to training processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
- Actively participate in Communities of Practice and tactical meetings to share insights, align on best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of training programs.
- Work closely with Information Services (IT) and the SLMS Shared Services team to manage Service Now training requests and ensure training-related business needs are addressed promptly and accurately.
- Support internal and external audit readiness by maintaining accurate training records, documentation, and evidence of compliance with training requirements.
- Respond to and resolve ad hoc training requests from various business units, ensuring timely support and clear communication.
- Perform additional duties related to training and contribute to special projects as needed during the acquisition and integration period.
Essential Skills
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with managers, process owners, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong written communication skills for creating, updating, and managing training-related documentation and communications.
- Familiarity with training processes in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry, including compliance-driven and regulated training environments.
- Experience coordinating projects across multiple teams or departments, particularly in complex or transitioning organizational environments.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy when managing training assignments, records, and metrics.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training activities, requests, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address training gaps, process issues, and integration challenges.
- Sound judgment and critical thinking skills to evaluate training needs, interpret trends in training metrics, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Experience with training development and training program implementation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with learning systems and structured change control processes in a regulated industry.
- Exposure to Service Now or similar ticketing/request management systems for handling training-related requests.
- Experience participating in Communities of Practice or similar forums to share best practices in training and learning.
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries is advantageous.
- Experience supporting training aspects of nonconformities and CAPAs is beneficial.

This is a Contract position based out of Mahwah, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
