General Purpose
The
- Manage procurement and purchasing activities for assigned suppliers and categories of spend.
- Monitor inventory replenishment requirements and determine appropriate purchase order timing and quantities.
- Prepare, review, and issue purchase orders, RFQs, and SAP production orders.
- Lead sourcing initiatives, supplier evaluations, supplier qualification activities, and commercial negotiations.
- Identify alternate sources of supply, cost reduction opportunities, and supply chain improvement initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to support operational and production requirements.
- Support supplier development initiatives, supplier scorecards, corrective actions, and supplier quality performance.
- Ensure compliance with established procurement and contract management procedures.
- Support material availability by aligning purchasing activities with customer demand and production requirements.
- Analyze and report procurement KPIs and supply chain metrics for the Supply Chain Power BI dashboard.
- Assist the Procurement Department Senior Manager with strategic projects and departmental initiatives.
The Senior Buyer is a senior-level Procurement professional responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing activities that support HYTORC's manufacturing and distribution operations. This role drives supplier performance, cost savings, inventory availability, and supply chain risk reduction while partnering cross-functionally to support production requirements, business initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. The Senior Buyer is expected to operate independently, lead sourcing projects, and support the growth and performance of HYTORC's domestic and global supply chain.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities

This role is a non-supervisory senior individual contributor position. The Senior Buyer is expected to lead projects, coordinate cross-functional activities, influence stakeholders, and operate with a high degree of independence.
Education/Experience Required- Post-secondary degree and/or certification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- In lieu of a degree, 12+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, strategic sourcing, or a related field may be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, buyer/planner, or supply chain roles; experience in industrial, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, machinery, or engineered products environments preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing suppliers, RFQs, purchase orders, lead times, inventory requirements, supplier performance, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations, bill-of-material-driven purchasing, production planning, or work order requirements preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering prints, material specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, inventory management, demand planning, supplier development, and total cost of ownership principles.
- Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships, communicate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with logistics operations, supplier communications, and import/customs procedures preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems; SAP Business One or SAP experience preferred.
- Power BI experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
