Job Summary
Reporting to the Ramapo Nursing Programs Simulation Director and Assistant Dean in Charge of Nursing, this individual is responsible for the clinical education of accelerated nursing students.
Pay$70/hr
Organizational Security ResponsibilitiesThis position requires adherence to the organization's information security policies and procedures. Individuals in this role are expected to apply appropriate safeguards, participate in required security awareness training, and promptly report potential security incidents in accordance with institutional policies.
Responsibilities- Clinical supervision of the assigned group(s) of students in the clinical and laboratory settings.
- Prepare appropriate plans, materials, and learning activities for students to achieve the learning outcomes of each class.
- Orient students to the clinical unit.
- Select appropriate learning experiences for the assigned student group(s), i.e., client/patient assignments and planning clinical conferences.
- Observation and guidance of the students’ performance, review of procedures and principles as necessary, on-the-spot instruction as appropriate.
- Evaluation of students’ clinical performance on a weekly basis and verbally, as needed, on an individual basis, including written feedback on but not limited to: care plans, specialty rotation papers (when assigned), research projects (when assigned), medication cards, concept maps.
- Document clinical observations and/or any appropriate incidents during the clinical experience.
- Consult with students individually and/or in groups to review and/evaluate progression towards clinical outcomes and identify teaching strategies for reinforcement or adjustment.
- Plans and conducts pre and post conferences.
- Maintain cooperative, positive relationship with the staff on any unit of the healthcare facility assigned to facilitate optimum learning environment.
- Maintain effective, on‑going communication with the Course Coordinator concerning student progress and/or concerns.
- Minimum of Master’s degree in Nursing.
- License as a Registered Professional Nurse in NJ.
- Previous experience required.
- Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience with a specialty or practice in medical‑surgical nursing and/or psychiatric nursing.
- Previous nursing education experience.
- Knowledge of professional nursing curricula.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Ability to lead professional teams with diverse educational backgrounds.
- Professional certification in nursing.
