About Our Clients Kent and Medway Mental Health Trust (including CYPMHS) (KMMH) Providing inpatient and outpatient mental health services across Kent and Medway, including services for children, young people, older adults, forensic and specialist care.

The Trust operates across approximately 68 sites, delivering 24/7, 365-day patient services. Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT)

One of the largest community health providers in England, employing approximately 5,700 staff and serving a population of 1.4 million people across Kent, East Sussex, and parts of London. This contract includes 33 sites, made up of local GPs, sexual health clinics, dentists, and community-based care centres.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer / Handyperson to join our team in Kent, providing reliable, hands-on maintenance support across a range of NHS properties, including mental health units and community healthcare facilities. This is a varied and practical role where you will use your multi-skilled maintenance experience to keep buildings safe, secure, functional and well maintained. Your responsibilities will include carrying out planned and reactive maintenance , painting and decorating, general building tasks and repairs.

You will also support the wider team by identifying and reporting potential safety, security and maintenance issues, providing an additional pair of eyes across the sites. You will be required to travel between NHS properties across Kent, working professionally and respectfully within sensitive healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out painting and decorating works to a high standard. Undertake general maintenance tasks and repairs. Complete planned and reactive maintenance activities. Carry out carpentry, plumbing and locksmithing works where required. Identify and report potential safety, security and maintenance issues. Work safely and professionally within NHS and mental health environments. Provide excellent customer service to clients, colleagues and site users. Complete maintenance records and update digital job management systems.

Work independently while also supporting the wider facilities management team. Travel between multiple NHS sites across Kent as required. Maintain a high standard of workmanship and ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant health and safety procedures. Key Criteria:
The successful candidate will have:
Experience in painting and decorating to a high standard . Good knowledge and practical experience of carpentry . Good knowledge and practical experience of plumbing . Knowledge and experience of locksmithing . Their own suitablehand tools. The ability to work comfortably and professionally withinmental health units and challenging-behaviour environments. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Confidence using handheld devices and digital job management systems. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safe working practices. A flexible approach and willingness to travel across Kent. A full UK driving licence . DBS check will be a requirement of role application. Why Join Us?
