Smith & Associates, CPAs is seeking an Accounting & Advisory Associate (CPA Candidate or CPA Preferred) to join our collaborative team in Yarmouth. This role offers hands‑on experience across tax, audit, and client accounting work, with direct client interaction. We’re looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, values relationships, and wants to be part of a supportive, team‑oriented firm.

Requirements
  • 3–7 years of experience in public accounting, ideally with audit and financial statement work.
  • CPA or active CPA candidate is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a client‑focused approach.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable using technology and adapting to change.
  • Positive team player who is willing to jump in and help where needed.
  • Audit or attest experience is a plus.

  • Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000.
  • Full‑time schedule, Monday–Thursday 8–5 and Friday 8–12.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare individual, business, and nonprofit tax returns.
  • Participate in audit, review, and compilation engagements.
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting work papers.
  • Communicate directly with clients throughout engagements.
  • Assist with accounting and business client projects.
  • Support improvements to internal processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and staff across service areas.
  • Contribute to a positive, team‑oriented work environment.
