Role Description The Cost Accountant role at Dielectric is a full-time, on-site position based in Raymond, ME. This role is responsible for developing, monitoring, and analyzing product and manufacturing costs, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation across projects and production lines. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and posting journal entries, supporting month-end close, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.

The Cost Accountant will collaborate with operations, engineering, and finance teams to provide cost insights, support pricing decisions, and identify opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency. The role also involves maintaining accurate cost records, supporting audits, and contributing to continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Cost accounting proficiency, including Cost Accounting methods and strong Analytical Skills focused on manufacturing and product costing.
• Experience preparing and interpreting Financial Statements, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for management.
• Hands-on experience with Journal Entries (Accounting), general ledger maintenance, and month-end closing processes.
• Solid foundation in Finance principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is an advantage.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling); experience in a manufacturing environment is highly beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on-site in Raymond, ME.
