Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience in general office administration, bookkeeping, and accounts payable/receivable is required.
  • Professional experience and/or professional training in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred.
  • College experience in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred, but not required.
  • Spreadsheets:
    Strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, the Google Suite, and email communication.
  • Accounts Payable Processes:
    Understanding of invoice matching and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience in billing is preferred.
  • Attention to detail:
    High accuracy in entering data, verifying payment amounts, and ensuring information that is created and shared is current and correct.
  • Time management:
    Ability to prioritize tasks and meet required schedules or month-end close deadlines.
  • Communication:
    Highly organized and articulate verbal and written skills.
Performance Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable
    - Receive and process all invoices for approval and payment.
  • Purchasing
    - Receive and process all purchase orders.
  • Billing - request, process, and track student tuition payments.
  • Reporting - produce & submit regular financial reports for the organization.
  • Development
    - Receive and enter donations on Sustain Donor/Fundraising software, forward for deposit, and issuance letters of gratitude and year end statements.
  • School Nutrition Program
    - Conduct all USDA food orders through the SNP/Food Distribution CNP platform in addition to placing orders with in-house Food Service Department. Complete monthly breakfast / lunch reimbursement claims in addition to completing and submit all yearly forms for the school nutrition program.
  • Supporting Social Media Maintenance: (at times) Access and update the school and athletic Facebook platforms with important announcements and updates.
  • Miscellaneous Reporting & Tasks
    - Compiling and sending monthly water reports. Support yearly fundraising accounting efforts in collaboration with the Lee Academy Alumni Association. Purchasing, ordering, & soliciting supplies for athletics concessions.
Compensation
  • This is a full-time, year-round position that carries a salary of $55,000.00

The employee will be eligible to participate in benefit plans established by the organization. Lee Academy currently offers the following benefits to its full-time employees:

  • Anthem medical insurance benefits (Employer contribution is 90% of single coverage);
    Anthem vision insurance benefits (No employer contribution); and Delta dental insurance (No employer contribution).

  • Unemployment Insurance administered by the Maine Department of Labor.
  • Bereavement (paid leave)
  • Jury duty (unpaid leave)
  • CHRC and/or fingerprinting reimbursement.
  • Renewal certificates reimbursement up to the amount of $100.
  • Vacation leave in the amount of one (1) week/ 40 hours per year and non-cumulative.
  • Accrue one (1) hour of “Sick Leave” for every 40 hours worked and can carry over up to 120 days/ 960 hours from one defined year to the next.
  • Personal leave in the amount of two (2) days/ sixteen (16) hours per year and non-cumulative.
  • The Employee shall be entitled to twelve (12) paid holidays: 4th of July, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples' Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Patriots Day, Memorial Day.
