Reception Clerk Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

The physician office receptionist has responsibility for performing receptionist and related clerical duties in making patient appointments and maintaining steady, even flow.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIILITIES:
  • Answers phone, screens and refers incoming calls and takes messages when appropriate.
  • Schedules appointments for the providers; and cancels and reschedules when necessary. Make reminder calls to patients for their appointment with the providers.
  • Greets patients, gathers information needed for billing purposes and verify insurance eligibility.
  • Enter charges from the patient visits assigned by providers.
  • Collect payments for point of service- co-pays and other payments necessary.
  • Must accept personal accountability to provide quality services and to treat ALL contacts in a considerate, cooperative and respectful manner.
  • Performs other related duties as requested and assigned by the supervisor and clinic manager.
  • Adapts to evolving responsibilities and performs tasks beyond the scope of this description, as needed.
    • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Shall have authority as granted by the immediate supervisor in specific assignments and as designated by policy.
