Do youhave experience working with children? Have you been a babysitter for younger siblings, other family, orfriends? Are you studying education orhoping to work with children in the future? Migis Lodge is hiring Child Care providers for our summer programs. We operate 4 different programs:
Kid's Camp from 11am to 4pm daily for children ages 4-6;
Adventure Camp from 11am to 4pm daily for children ages.
7-11;
The Zoo our children's dinner program daily from 5:30 to 9pm for children of any age; private sitting daily for families who want child careoutside of our other programs.
Housing is not available for this position at this time.

Hours:
Full-time and part-time available
Compensation: $16.50 per hour(depending on experience) + additionalincentive payment of 7% total wages. Additional compensation for employees who can work through labor day.
Seasonal Position: ASAP - September/October (flexible).

We wantto hire creative, fun, active, and outgoing people who want to bring happinessto our youngest guests vacations. Mustbe trustworthy and have the ability to work independently as well as part of ateam. Hours vary based on businessvolume. Applicants 16 and older can workin any aspect of our program; 14 and 15 year old applicants may be considered,but have more limited responsibilities.
Background checks are required for all candidates who are offered aposition.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for looking after children in the absence ofparents; providing them with a safe environment and entertainment tocreate lasting memories of their time at Migis Lodge. Introducing the children to all the programs offered on property. Organize, take part and engage children in structured activities.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
:
- Maintain a safe environment for child
- Create a positivechild care atmosphere
- Competent in waterwith swimming and watching children
- Be physically able tostay at children's pace
- Knowledgeable in treating minor wounds
- Responsible forbodily fluids of the child you are watching
- Cleaning up any spaceused during activities
- Provide dedicatedservices to one guest family per weekor shorter stay guests. If not assigned to one family, assistas assigned as part of kids camp or zoo program as needed.
- Available to provideextra child care to the family when needed outside of scheduled programs
- Prepare activities and play games
- Be sure you understand all safety standards and emergency communication proceduresestablished by supervisors/managers
- Handle and communicate guest requests, special needs, guest complaints in a professional manner.
- Label and submit alllost and found items according to propertyprocedures.
- Understand personalsanitation, the use of personal protective equipment and how to handleunsanitary linens, bodily fluids, etc. Be aware of ways to preventpersonal injury from improper reaching, lifting, stretching and carrying.
- Be aware ofallergy/health concerns ofeach child in your care. Be aware of the dangers of crosscontamination issues.
- Knowwho to notify in case of broken equipment or unsafe/unsanitary conditions.
- Manually handle/lift/carry up to 50 pounds between knee and shoulders.
- Maybe required to be vertically mobile working for entire shift.
- Protect theassets of this property and Migis Hotel Group.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
:
- Must be eligible towork in the United States of America
- Must be at least 16years old
- Must have the abilityto communicate in English, both orally and written, with children and adults, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy
- Must be able tomulti-task and have the ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations
- Schedule variesaccording to operational needs; mayincludeearly mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, andsplit-shifts.
- Frequenthand-washing.
- Active listening and observationskills.
- Hazards include, butare not limited to lifting injuries, exposure to unsanitary materials, slips, and tripping.
