M97 Gallery Contemporary Photography in Shanghai is looking for an exceptionally organized and experienced Gallery Manager. Applicants must have an education or professional background in art and/or photography and a strong interest in contemporary Chinese photography. Only candidates with previous work experience in an art gallery or museum need apply.

• Ensure all gallery daily operations run smoothly, including exhibition preparations, media relations, marketing, and information management
• Write press releases
• Attend to clients and interested visitors
• Oversee administrative duties

• High level of professionalism
• Strong ability to work independently
• Ability to diagnose problems and initiate solutions
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Writing and editing, database, and advanced computer skills
• Demonstrated ability to multitask in a demanding environment and follow through with tasks
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects, keep them within budget, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Mac OS, Photoshop, and other graphic design applications
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
