Outpatient Primary Care Physician (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine)

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Primary Care Physician (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine) to join an established outpatient practice in Rumford, Maine. This is an excellent opportunity to practice outpatient-only primary care in a supportive, community-focused environment while being part of a growing healthcare network.

Physicians will provide comprehensive care to adult and family medicine patients while collaborating with specialists and hospital-based providers within the Central Maine Healthcare system.

The system includes Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, a 250-bed, not-for-profit regional referral hospital that is home to the region's only Cancer Care Center, an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, and the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute.

CMMC also serves as the central Maine base for Life Flight of Maine, the state's only medical helicopter service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic primary care
  • Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease
  • Conduct routine physical exams and wellness visits
  • Coordinate care with specialists and hospital services
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
  • Participate in quality improvement and population health initiatives
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes
Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Eligible for Maine medical licensure
  • DEA certification or eligibility
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork
