Job DescriptionThe Oxford Hills School District is seeking internal candidates for the Position of Tutor multiple subject areas for the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School serves approximately 1,100 students in grades 9‑12. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with students, employ effective teaching practices, and work collaboratively.

Work Schedule:
180 days as needed basis; hourly pay, up to 10 hours/week
Candidates must hold a Special Education certification. This position could be K‑12, depending on the opportunity.

As contributing members of the district’s learning community, all district staff members are expected to:

- Utilize best practices for motivating today’s students in a safe, supportive learning environment;
- Demonstrate knowledge in the development of real‑world learning experiences and community partnerships to provide students with opportunities for extensions of learning, applied learning, community service, and citizenship;
- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to collaborate, engage, and communicate with colleagues, parents and the public.
Further, instructional staff will emphasize and employ practices that lead to improvement in student achievement by:
- Instilling problem‑solving and critical thinking as a “new basics” for learning across all grade levels;
- Delivering strong literacy instruction across content areas;
- Helping students develop skills to apply, interpret, analyze, and evaluate the vast, ever‑expanding amount of information;
- Employing effective lesson design by adjusting to students’ personal learning needs and preferences, including appropriate technology applications.
