As our School Counselor or Social Worker, you will be the architect of our social-emotional landscape. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Empowering Students:
  Facilitate individual and small-group sessions that build resilience, advocacy, and coping skills.
• Leading SEL Initiatives:
  Champion the Second Step curriculum, ensuring our students and staff have a shared language for success.
• Cultivating Climate:
  Design and implement positive behavior supports that make our school a place where kids want to be.
• Strategic Support:
  Manage crisis assessments with a calm, steady hand and lead attendance initiatives that keep students engaged.
• Community Bridging:
  Act as the vital link between our school, our families, and local community resources.

We are looking for a candidate who is as adaptable as they are empathetic. Requirements include:

• Certification:
  State of Maine Guidance Counselor Certification (075) or Social Work licensure (LCSW, LMSW-cc, LSW, or LSW-X).
• Mindset: A "team-first" attitude and a genuine love for the energy and potential of middle schoolers.
• Expertise:
  Experience in crisis management, conflict resolution, and promoting positive school-wide behavior.

• This position requires that you be fingerprinted through the Maine Department of Education.
• At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
