Houlton Elementary School, 26-27 School Year

As a Kindergarten Teacher, you are the architect of a child’s foundational school experience. You will create a joyful, inclusive classroom where play and purpose meet, ensuring every student feels seen, heard, and encouraged to grow.

• Inspire Discovery:
  Plan and deliver hands‑on, engaging lessons in early Literacy, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies aligned with Maine State Standards.
• Differentiate & Support:
  Use observations and assessments to meet students where they are, whether they are already reading or just learning to hold a pencil.
• Partner with Families:
  Act as a bridge between home and school, maintaining warm and proactive communication with parents and guardians.

• Required:
  
  Valid 020 Certification (Elementary/Intermediate Education).
• Prior experience teaching at the elementary level is highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of early literacy development and “learning through play” methodologies.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.

Proper Maine DOE certification and background check required for all positions.

Open until a suitable candidate is found. Subject to approval of 26-27 Budget.
