The School of Nursing at the University of Maine invites applications for a full-time, academic-year tenure track Assistant Professor position in nursing that is 75% teaching and 25% research.
Responsibilities- Teaching in our BSN, MSN and/or doctoral programs (DNP and/or PhD)
- Conducting research leading to peer‑reviewed publications, conferences or poster presentations, or grants
- Participating in scholarly activities in the field of expertise
- Serving on school, university, and public committees
- Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
- DNP and/or PhD in nursing or a related field by the time of appointment from an accredited university
- Current RN licensure in the State of Maine (or eligibility)
- Demonstrated ability or potential to teach in the field of discipline at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Strong record or promise of scholarship, evidenced by peer‑reviewed publications and extramural research funding
- Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor students
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated scholarship potential and an interest in engaging students in research or translating research into practice
- An established research agenda or plan including publications, grant funding, and/or participation in conferences
- Experience with particular research methods or post‑doctoral research experience
- Record or promise of high professional and institutional service and leadership capacity
- Permission to work in the United States
