Educational Technician (Ed Tech I, II, or III)
RSU 40 – Midcoast Maine
RSU 40 is seeking flexible, student-centered Educational Technicians to support students across our special education programs. These positions work as part of a collaborative team to provide academic, behavioral, and functional support to students with diverse needs.
This is a program-based role, meaning staff may support students across classrooms, programs, and schools based on student needs.
What You’ll Do- Support students in academic, behavioral, and functional skill development
- Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans
- Provide 1:1 and small group support in a variety of settings
- Assist with classroom routines, materials, and organization
- Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and program teams
- Help create safe, structured, and inclusive learning environments
- Maine Ed Tech I, II, or III certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience working with children (preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and willingness to support across programs
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and responsive in dynamic situations
- Commitment to student growth, inclusion, and dignity
- Be part of a supportive, team-oriented special education department
- Work with incredible students across a continuum of programs

Staff may have opportunities to:
- Work in specialized programs (LEAD, Bridge, Endeavor, Composite, Resource Room)
- Support community-based instruction
- Receive training in behavior support and intervention strategies
- Serve in Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) roles, if qualified
